We are certainly living in an exciting time for the Alpaca Industry.
There are many new facets of the alpaca industry evolving as we speak.
At Kings Highway Alpacas we feel that raising alpacas and being successfully at it requires involving yourself as fully as possible. For us that means, we enjoy being members of different organization that we feel are leading the industry in the right direction.
We are proud members of AOBA, CIABA and Alpaca United.
AOBA is our national show system, and we do enjoy going to the shows, being with our dear friends, and seeing all the beautiful alpacas. It is always a wonderful time!
CIABA is an organization leading the fiber evolution, helping all owners and breeders of fiber animals to bring their fiber into production, and they have lead the way in providing educational opportunities to all. This organization stands for sustainable, natural fiber farming.... which is why we raise alpacas!
Alpaca United is a newly formed organization formed strictly to brand "ALPACA" .
This group is comprised of farmers and investors across the country. We recently hired, Nick Hahn, of Cotton,INC...who is responsible for the line " Cotton, the fabric of our lives"... to raise the awareness of Alpaca, as an elite fiber.
Who knows what he can do to top Cotton, but we know he can do it!
Another thing we are doing here at our farm
We are learning to sort and grade fiber!
We have always processed our alpaca fiber, but are taking it even a step further to help maximize all of the fiber from every alpaca!
and will be going to classes in November in Harrisburg NH.
There is a beautiful Mill there, that once bustled in the day of the woolen industry. A step back in time, but a step forward for us!
We truly enjoy our alpacas and their fiber, and we are excited to see the natural fiber industry growing by leaps and bounds!
The products from our alpaca fiber will be available in our Alpaca Boutique.
From head to toe, and even under your feet!
We will be offering Alpaca Duvets
Alpaca Rugs
Rug Yarns
Worsted and Woolen yarns
Roving
and much more, come and visit our store and our farm, we would love to share with you what we have learned!
